EY Apprenticeship Application Stages — Everything You Need to Know

Salary: £22,000–£26,000Length: 5 yearsAcceptance: 3–5%

Here is every stage of the EY School Leaver Programme application process — what happens, in what order, and what you need to do to pass each one.

1

Online Application Form

Complete your personal details, academic grades, and motivational questions. This is where you answer why EY and why this programme. Application window: October–January for the following September start.

Prep tip

Answer motivational questions specifically — not generically. A specific reason for choosing EY over a generic 'I want to work in the sector' answer makes an immediate difference.

2

Online Assessments

Cognitive ability tests and a Situational Strength Test (SST)

Prep tip

Practice with real providers (SHL, Korn Ferry, Cubiks) before the test date. Don't attempt on a mobile or slow connection.

3

Video Interview

Pre-recorded video interview — competency and motivational questions before the assessment centre invite

Prep tip

Record yourself answering a practice question and watch it back. Fix filler words, posture, and pacing before the real thing.

4

Assessment Centre

Held at a EY office. Typically includes: Partner/senior manager interview, Group exercise, Written case study.

Prep tip

Prepare STAR stories for all competencies before the day. The assessment starts when you walk in — be professional with everyone you meet.
